Social Media

Establish your presence on social media. You don't need to be on every platform -- it's worth focusing on where your target users tend to gather.

General

Using a personal email address for SNS accounts can make handoffs difficult when the person in charge changes. If you use Google Workspace, creating a group and allowing external email delivery ensures that notifications and verification emails are received properly.

You might consider these once your activity picks up. Starting with manual posting is perfectly fine.

Starting simple with about three channels -- announcements, general, and support -- seems to be a common approach. You can always add more as your user base grows.

Set up an announcements channel (read-only)
Set up a general conversation channel
Set up a support and feedback channel
Set up a rules and guidelines channel

Setting up basic roles like admin, moderator, and member can help with smooth operations. Some also create channels exclusively for paid users.
